Reimagining Brooklyn Bridge

Imagine our surprise when, perusing Roebling’s archives, we found an undated drawing* showing the Brooklyn Bridge with not two but three bays! Could the iconic bridge have been constructed incompletely? How strange that Roebling drew the third bay in an unfinished state, without cladding: a scaffold, as if an impermanent addition, an apparition, a shadow... (*some artistic license taken)
